Cream Cheese filled Banana Bread

Well hello there!

I know it’s been a minute but I’m here now! πŸ™‚ I hope your Tuesday is going well. Unfortunately my Monday ended with a flat tire and a early morning today with a trip to the tire store on my day off. Despite that little hick up– I have a new tire and I’m ready to cruise through the rest of the week (ya see what I did there? lol).

Today, I am going to share this fun filled banana bread. I have been wanting to try this recipe for like a year now, and I decided today was the day. Also the fact that I let my banana’s get too ripe on the counter.. but I can’t be the only one. Who else is with me?!

Let’s start with our ingredients:

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup crisco
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 or 4 ripe bananas
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 4 tbsp sour cream
  • 2 cups flour

Cream Cheese filling:

  • 8oz softened cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp flour

Step 1:

Mix sugar, crisco & eggs. Dissolve baking soda in sour cream. Stir in bananas, salt & flour

 

Whisk on second speed until all clumps are gone.

Step 2:

Time to make our cream cheese filling, YUM! In smaller bowl beat together all ingredients until smooth.Β IMG_3550.jpg

Step 3:

Divide 1/2 of the mixture and pour into 2 greased loaf pans. Pour filling mixture into the pan then add the remainder of your banana bread on top. Finish by sprinkling cinnamon sugar over the spread.

Step 4:

Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 50 minutes

Step 5:

Cool & serve!

Seriously this stuff is sooo good! I am going to take a loaf to work so I don’t eat it all in a few sittings haha! I love regular banana bread but I also love the fun twist the filling puts on this loaf. If you try this out let me know how you like it. πŸ™‚
