How in the world are ya?! I’ve missed you. Small update on life, I am now living in Urbana with my roomie. We just moved in on January 1st. Talk about ringing in the new year right lol! Huge shout out to my mom and brother for all the help moving us in. So grateful for the extra set of hands.
I’ve stated this before but I like to have everything put in it’s place by the time I go to sleep. That pretty much was the case this time as well. On a side note… girls, it is crazy how much stuff you need to start up a kitchen. I have been to the store just about every night with a long list of basic ingredients I need just to make dinner.
Alright, onto the nitty gritty. I have always loved to be a host, a good quality I learned from my mom. Anything to have a group of people together is right up my alley. Today my roommate and I are hosting our first Sunday Brunch. No real theme here just a hodgepodge of things I have from previous events.
If you were wondering where I got the things in the above picture… ding ding ding you got it right! Target of course 🙂 The gold sparkly coasters are from a few years back in the dollar spot as well as the straws. A few days ago I was cruising the dollar spot again and found the craft paper roll for $3!! Score. I have never actually had a table runner so I was a little indifferent about this one but decided to pull the trigger. The brand is Opal House and very festive for valentines day.
For my place mat settings, I measured out a 15in piece of the craft paper then cut out four of them. I ended up just using a sharpie to write everyones name on the side of the mat beside the plate. Such an easy and cute way to spice up the table scape. The gold striped napkins are from Walmart and the white bowls were from Target dollar spot a few years back.
Taylor had to step in while cooking the bacon… I let the bacon get a little too charred haha. Bacon is not my strong suit!
We did a pretty basic brunch, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, hash browns, bacon, egg casserole (thanks Cade & Rebecca:) ), mimosas and of course coffee!
Onto my favorite little spot in our new home, the bar cart! I have been stocking Pinterest for tons of ideas for a bar cart and am so excited to start decorating and changing it up. So far it’s pretty simple but like I said we’ve only been here for a fews days (my downside I want everything to be perfect like one minute into living here) but good things take time ya know?!
We had a wonderful morning full of good food and hanging out! I hope y’all have had a great weekend. If you host a brunch party anytime soon, share with me. I’d love to see 🙂
Happy Sunday! I hope your week to come is full of happiness and smiles. Talk soon!!
