The Coffee Bar

Good Morning!

If you are anything like me, you live for coffee. When you wake up in the morning, midday pick me up, and even sometimes a decaf latte as late as 5 in the afternoon. That might be a little excessive I know, but I’m telling you I love coffee.

My coffee addiction started when I was working at gift shop in my hometown called Wacky Nackies. I worked there after school and Saturday mornings my senior year and truly will cherish those times forever. It taught me a lot about customer service, helping others be thoughtful in gift giving, and of course how to make lattes.

Wacky Nackies had a huge espresso machine that I had to conquer on my second and third day of working there. Talk about nerves lol! I mean I had hardly even had a sip of coffee and now I was supposed to make people the best Saturday morning latte they’ve had! From the flavors to the perfect amount of froth to top off their latte was a little intimidating but after no time I felt like I was perfecting it.

All of that to say I am now a huge coffee lover even though my mom told me from day one that coffee stains my teeth. Sorry Mom… the tastes buds want what they want. 😉

I’ve always wanted a space dedicated to my morning coffee routine. I use to only have the Keurig and ya know it just wasn’t doing the trick. I thought it was necessary to get another coffee maker, because two is better than one, right?! Black Friday I scored the Ninja Coffee Bar for half off, it was a no brainer. Needless to say, I love it. Until I can get that huge espresso machine like the one from Wacky Nackies, this Ninja Coffee Bar will hold me over. The Keurig 2.O is the other coffee maker that I have. I like having both because with the Ninja you can focus more on a specialty brew, over ice or a full pot. The Keurig is nice for a more specific flavor of coffee from your K-cups or having hot chocolate or tea. I like to have options!

I have been looking for canisters to hold my loose coffee grounds and finally decided on this coffee canister from target along with the tea canister. They also have ones to match for your kitchen like sugar, flour, and utensils. I love them and the tidiness they add to the counter.

There can never be too many coffee cups in the house… until you don’t have room for them lol! I’m running into that issue. My roomie picked up the Rae Dunn cups from TJ Maxx and I got the matching Mimira Mug from Anthropologie. Believe me, we have another shelf in the kitchen with more cups.. these ones just are lucky enough to be out on display!

Last but not least, the bottom shelf. I picked up this wire basket form TJ Maxx and thought it would be perfect to toss a variety of K-cups in. Like I said I’m an options kinda girl so I love how this worked out. The Tealyra tea pot is perfect for brewing loose leaf tea. It has a small basket in the middle to steep your tea. If you like tea, this is a great option for a glass or two at night.

Also, if you are wondering where the shelf itself is from… y’all it was made in my garage  by Cade and Rebecca! Just a couple wood boards, screws, and some paint they had this baby up in no time. I am thrilled with how it turned out and the simplicity of it. If you have a vision and can’t find it anywhere in stores, have a friend make it for you!

What’s your favorite area in your home? If you have a cute little coffee nook I would love to see how you decorate it! Stay tuned for a new recipe coming soon!!

Have a wonderful Monday 🙂

xoxo, Shelby
